Forfeit: Habit Contracts

Forfeit: Accountability That Works

The accountability app that uses real stakes to make you follow through - and blocks the distractions that stop you before you even start. Used by 20k+ people, with a 94% success rate across 75k+ goals.

Built on the science of Habit Contracts (popularised by Atomic Habits), we hold you accountable in two powerful ways: blocking distracting apps and websites during your focus time, and enforcing real consequences if you miss your goals.

HOW IT WORKS

Set your goal - Define what you want to achieve and set your deadline

Prove you did it - Verify completion via photo, video, GPS, health data, and more

Stay accountable - Miss your deadline and face real consequences. But this rarely happens - 94% of goals succeed. Appeal anytime if life gets in the way.

SCREEN BLOCKING

Block distracting apps and websites during your goal time windows. Set daily time limits and schedule blocks to stay focused.

LOCATION-BASED REMINDERS

Get reminders when you arrive at or leave your saved locations. Forfeit can remind you to walk the dog when you get home or complete your workout when you arrive at the gym, even when the app is closed.

VERIFICATION METHODS

Health Data - Sync steps, calories, sleep, heart rate, workouts, hydration, weight and more via Health Connect

PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST AND WHY

Background Location - Used to detect when you arrive at or leave locations you choose and send your location-based reminders, even when the app is closed or not in use. This is optional and enabled by you. You can disable location reminders or revoke location access anytime in settings.

Health Connect - We read health data solely to verify your fitness and wellness goals. Supported types include heart rate, steps, distance, active calories, exercise sessions, sleep, hydration, weight, floors climbed, and activity recognition. We access only the data you enable and never use it for ads. Revoke anytime in settings.

Accessibility Service - Used to detect the foreground app and block apps you select during goals. We only read the package name, not text, taps, or screen content. Optional and user-initiated. No data is stored or shared.

App Visibility - Used to display all installed apps so you can choose which ones to block, and to detect installed browsers for website blocking. We do not collect or share your installed app data.
