— the only Croatian translation made according to the principle "word for word" (not "thought for thought")

• all words added for better understanding of the biblical text are written in italics

• the imposition of the theological views of the translators was avoided

— translated directly from the original languages: Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek

• the original for the Old Testament: Masoretic text

• the original for the New Testament: Accepted Text (Textus Receptus)

— out of respect for God's name, the four letter YHVH is translated as LORD

• it is translated in the same way in the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the Septuagint

• this way of translating the name of God was followed by all traditional translations into world languages

• since vowels are not written in the Hebrew language, God's name is unknown: "Jehovah" is incorrect, and "Yahweh" is arbitrary
