Gym is one activity that can maintain your health and fitness. Michael R. Bracko, EdD, FACSM, chairman of the American College of Sports Medicine's Consumer Information Committee, as quoted by WebMD, says that exercise is like a magic pill for you.

"Exercise can really cure diseases like some types of heart disease. Exercise has had an impact on helping people prevent or recover from certain types of cancer. Exercise helps people suffering from arthritis. "Exercise helps people prevent and overcome depression," said Michael.

There is no doubt that many people who routinely go to gym experience weight loss. Of course this only happens if the gym activity is carried out properly and regularly. But for those of you who are beginners, you don't need to go through a heavy gym schedule.

"The slightest benefit from physical activity will encourage weight loss and you will feel better," said Rita Redberg, MSc, chair of the American Heart Association's Scientific Advisory Board for the Choose to Move program.
