Accessibility Service Usage

Mindful Scroll uses Android’s AccessibilityService API for one core function:

to detect when a user opens a user-selected protected app (for example, Instagram or TikTok) and show a brief mindful pause screen before access.

With explicit user consent, Mindful Scroll uses AccessibilityService only to:

• Detect the current foreground app.

• Recognize when selected protected apps are opened.

• Display the in-app pause intervention/reminder.

Mindful Scroll does NOT use AccessibilityService to:

• Read typed text, messages, passwords, or personal content.

• Collect or transmit personal data to third parties.

• Change device settings without user action.

• Prevent users from disabling AccessibilityService.

All processing for this feature is performed on-device.

AccessibilityService is optional, user-enabled, and can be disabled at any time in Android Settings.
