About Молитва Церкви

Church calendar, Statute, Liturgical texts - Evening, Matins, Times, Liturgies

The "Prayer of the Church" project is a volunteer development of a group of priests and laymen of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.

The purpose of this project is to make available to the faithful of the UGCC and others who wish to pray the Liturgy of the Church according to the tradition of the Byzantine rite.

The basis is the official liturgical calendar of the UGCC, which is prepared annually for the entire church by the Patriarchal Liturgical Commission of the UGCC.

The texts of the Divine Liturgy follow the texts of the prayer book "Come and worship", which is the most used prayer book by the faithful of the UGCC.

The texts of the services of the daily circle are compiled according to the liturgical editions of Father Vasiliyan, namely: Molytvoslov 1990. and the daily Lenten and Flower Triods additionally issued to it. The developers deliberately followed the order of the texts in the services of the daily circle, which are often erroneous in the editions of Father Basilian, which may differ from the official statute of the Patriarchal Liturgical Commission, because their desire was to enable joint prayer of the faithful who will use the paper editions and those who will use the electronic prayer book.

Additional texts that are not in the Prayer Book of Reverend Basilian, but are provided for by the statute, such as the canons of Sundays and holidays, added from the Octoikh of M. Kobrin and the Kyiv Mineia of 1927. The texts of the canons of the Lenten Triod follow Zavitnevich's translation of the Triod, the texts of the canons of the Flower Triod are from the publications of the UOC KP.

This will be the case until the UGCC does not have its own liturgical translations of these texts.

Since it is difficult to pray in his honor without knowledge of the history of the holy day, the calendar includes short excerpts from the lives of the saints, as well as excerpts from the works of the Fathers of the Church collected by Fr. Julian Katri in his book "Pearls of the Eastern Fathers".

The compilers of the texts try to make the prayer of the church available to you consciously and responsibly. At the same time, they understand that only the Lord God is sinless, so they apologize for the variety of errors and inconsistencies in the calendar.

"When someone wants to argue, we do not have such a custom, nor does the Church of God" (1Cor 11:16)
